Signs by Sojourn was heavily involved as consultant, manufacturer and installer of the award winning "In Transit" art piece on the 100m long retaining wall at the new Saint John Transit facility.Architects Stephen Kopp and Monica Adair won a national design competition for their series of 85 2'x10" sign panels that depict portions of traffic signs. July 15, 2009 Ask and You Shall Receive!Customers asked for more products and Sojourn replied by expanding our product line, which now includes real estate signs, vehicle graphics and wide format digital prints.July 15, 2009 Sojourn fabricates and installs Cabot Trail Signage. Thanks to Signs by Sojourn, the Cabot Trail is now a little easier to navigate. Sojourn just completed a major sign fabrication and installation project including large directional signs as well as interpretive panels placed in roadside kiosks. July, 2009 Sojourn provides Free Admission to 4000 Racing Fans to the 2009 Speedway 660 FanFest. Sojourn was the lead sponsor for this years FanFest at Speedway 660 outside of Fredericton. The staff and managers traveled to the race to greet fans and enjoy a hi-octane weekend. Despite the weather and daunting forecasts, the event was a tremendous success with over 4000 fans in attendance. July, 2009 Fore! Sojourn Supports Local Associations.If you have been out on the golf course this summer you might have seen Sojourn! We have sponsored Hole in One Contests at several golf tournaments this summer. Partnering with the Construction Association of Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association, the Nova Scotia Road Builders, the New Brunswick Road Builders and Highway Construction Association and the Nova Scotia Realtors Association. Our staff had a great time meeting the golfers. Part of our sponsorship was a photo contest where golfers dressed up in safety gear.

Page 1 SUBSTRATESDefinition: Primary or underlying material on which other materials (such as ink, coating, paint, or treatment) are applied, or from which other materials are made. - businessdictionary.comThe following lists some of the substrates we keep in stock for sign making.Crezon PlywoodThe construction industry demands signs that are extremely durable and able to withstand a lot of stress. In most cases 0.5" thick Cezon Plywood is the substrate chosen for these signs. It is coated with a paper barrier on both sides to minimize water penetration.AluminumAluminum is an excellent option for long-term and outdoor signs. Its rigidity and durability make it the most popular substrate among our customers. Holes and corners can be provided according to your specifications. Blanks come in white (baked enamel) and bare (mill finish). Thicknesses are .025 (white only), .040 (white only), .051, .064 and .080. ePanel or DiBondThese substrates are made from laminating PVC with thin aluminum surfaces to create a cost effective yet durable solution to aluminum.CoroplastLight, affordable and versatile are all words which describe Coroplast. It is similar to "plastic cardboard" and comes in a variety of thicknesses. Corplast is great for indoor applications and outdoor situations where the sign will not be moved or will only be used for a short time. StyreneStyrene is a flexible plastic material that is used for many types of signs including safety signs and placards. It comes in several thicknesses.

Page 4 ILLUMINATIONEase of perception of a sign depends to a large degree on the quality, intensity and colour of ambient light that falls on it. Generally, available ambient light should suffice, but operational or site conditions may call for special measures to be taken to ensure there are acceptable levels of illumination. The following aspects should be evaluated when determining siting and illumination.Exterior SignsNighttime visibility of a sign may be needed to facilitate access to services provided directly to the public (especially those located in northern regions). This may also apply in cases where a sign must be legible outside a facilitys regular hours of operation. A decision on the most appropriate lighting or illumination method (front illuminated, trans illuminated or use of retro reflective sign materials) should take into account both energy and cost efficiency.Interior SignsAvailable ambient light is normally sufficient to illuminate interior signs. To minimize costs and to avoid additional lighting requirements, the placement of illumination should be coordinated with the siting of signs.Special (battery operated) lighting may be needed for signs that must be visible during emergency conditions (such as a power failure). It is also important to provide proper illumination for signs bearing regulatory, warning or emergency messages, and to ensure effective recognition of safety colours. Certain illuminants, such as low and high-pressure sodium lamps and clear mercury vapour lamps, may distort colours under some circumstances. To avoid misinterpretation, supplementary illumination (e.g. by incandescent lamps) may have to be provided.
